Novel Study Guidelines and Accelerated Reader (AR)

This year we will be trying something a little different than in previous years.  No more approved author lists!!

 

In both English 3 & 4, there will be four pre-selected novels that you will read for the novel studies.  You are encouraged to take the AR tests on these novels when you read them.  However, there will be opportunities to read any book you wish to earn AR points each grading period.

 

What are these incentives?  Every six weeks, students who earn eight or more points will earn an invitation to an incentive party.  Each party will be different and could include a morning at the lake or a pajama party, for example.  If you earn eight points, you will also receive a perfect score for the AR grade.  Anything less than an eight will be graded on a scale.
