Library Principles & Guidelines
Finding the Right Fit
Not every book is right for every reader. Reading choices are personal, and you are the only one who knows if a book is the right fit for you. If you begin reading a book and find that it offends you or simply doesn't suit your preferences, you are always encouraged to put it down and choose another one from our shelves.

Expectations
The MHS Library is a shared space built on trust, respect, and responsibility. To ensure a productive environment for everyone, all visitors are expected to uphold the following standards:
  • Trust: Students are trusted to utilize their time in the library for productive purposes, whether completing classwork, conducting research, or reading quietly.
  • Respect: Respect fellow MHS patrons and refrain from disrupting others who are reading, studying, or working. Due to limited workspace and shared seating, volume levels must be kept to a minimum at all times.
  • Responsibility: Students are responsible for their use of all library resources, materials, and facilities. Treat library items with care—better than if they were your own. Be mindful when consuming materials, and always leave your workspace better and cleaner than you found it.
