Welcome to Culinary Arts!
This homepage is for our 1st and 2nd year Culinary class. Thanks for visiting!
To the right, you can find our Syllabus and Year at a Glance documents. This will give you some insight into what we will be learning this year and how our classroom operates.

As the school year progresses, I plan to use this page to show off what we are working on in the kitchen and the classroom, so stay tuned!

Click below to access our Recipe Book! I will update this document with our recipes throughout the year!
Does my student need to buy anything for this class?
No! Students are encouraged to buy a 1.5 inch binder to use in class, but we will have binders for students to use if you cannot purchase one.

What should my student bring to class each day?
Students will need to bring their binder and charged Chromebook to school each day. On Kitchen Lab days, students will need close-toed shoes and something to tie back long hair. (hair ties, hat, etc)

Will students be cooking every day?
No, students will participate in classroom lessons and activities in addition to kitchen Labs. In the Introductory course, students will spend time learning about the basics of food and cooking techniques then labs to practice their newly acquired skills.

Why haven't students started cooking yet?
At the beginning of the school year, students must learn and review the basics of kitchen and food safety before entering the kitchen. This is to ensure that all kitchen labs run smoothly and the risk of injury or illness is reduced. Students will study for and take their Food Handler's License test, as well as various skills tests, as we gradually introduce new kitchen equipment and more complicated skills and techniques.
