What doesthis mean for me?

Ifyou plan to participate in dual credit, you must meet the criteria for the course you in which you intend to enroll. Students requesting History, Government, or Economics must meet the college readiness standard or exemption for reading.  Students requesting English must meet the college readiness standard or exemption for reading and writing.  Students requesting Math must meet the college readiness standard for Math (there are no exemptions for Math….TSI scores must be met).

What if Idid not meet the college readiness standard or exemptions, but I am interestedin the dual credit program?

Students may retake the TSI in its entirety or by section.  Students wanting to retest will need to make arrangements with the testing center located on the MCC campus and will be responsible for all testing fees.  You can contact the testing center at 254-299-8453.

REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT YOU USE YOUR TSI SCORES TO ENTER THE DUAL CREDIT PROGRAM,PLEASE USE THIS INFORMATION AS A TOOL TO PLAN FOR YOUR FUTURE.  IF YOU ARE “COLLEGE READY”, CONTINUE TO SHARPEN YOUR SKILLS AND CHALLENGE YOURSELF TO TAKE ADVANCED COURSES.  IF YOU DID NOT MEET THE STANDARD FOR COLLEGE READINESS, PLEASE DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED. CONTINUE TO WORK HARD IN YOUR CLASSES AND FOCUS ON IMPROVING YOUR AREAS OF WEAKNESS.
